Fundraiser and San Antonio Reminder

Thank you so much to all of our parents who helped with our fundraiser by giving soda, water, and - most importantly - their time! After the Grandparents' Day Lunch, we were able to raise more than enough money to buy disposable cameras for each student for our trip to San Antonio and The Alamo!

On a related note, our San Antonio field trip is fast approaching. If you chose to pay for the trip according to the payment plan listed in the note home, the first payment of $12 is due tomorrow, 9/17. If you opted to pay the $36 all at once, please send the money at any time, but the sooner the better.

One last reminder: the "Me Project" newspaper front page is due Monday, 9/21. You can view information about the project under my "Project Information" page on the left.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the upcoming trip, project, or anything else.

4th Grade Fundraiser - Volunteers Needed!

73 fourth grade students still need disposable cameras for our trip to San Antonio, so to help out with the cost we'll be holding a fundraiser during the Grandparents' Day Lunch on Tuesday, 9/15. We're looking for parents to volunteer for a few jobs:
- 2-3 parents to take pictures of students and their grandparents and collect money  ($5 per picture).
- Several parents to donate cases of soft drinks and water (will sell for $1 each).
- Any parents who would like to directly donate disposable cameras to the 4th grade.

We'd appreciate any help we can get, so please let me know if you're available!

9/2 - Open House Reminder

We've had a great first two weeks in fourth grade, and we're all excited for the year to come. Please take note of the following reminders:

- Instruction starts at 7:45 am. If your child is late, they are missing valuable instructional time. Roosevelt as a school is making an effort this year to cut down on tardies, and repeated tardies will be reported to the office.

- Please check your child's homework planner every night, and review their homework with them. Fourth grade is a very important year, and the kids are learning a lot of new and challenging concepts every day. Homework is given to allow students the chance to practice the skills they learned during the day, and it would help them a great deal if parents or older siblings reviewed their work with them nightly.

- Review and sign your child's conduct chart every Friday. We'll give conduct and academic grades every week, and write a quick note about your child's performance. Please be sure to review and sign the conduct chart every day.

- OPEN HOUSE is tomorrow (Thursday, 9/3) at 5:30 pm. We hope to see you all there!

Welcome to Mr. Salek-Raham's Class!

Welcome to my class website! It's kind of bare right now, but be sure to check back here frequently to view my nightly homework assignments, project information, or to send me an email. I'll also update the Math, Science, and Writing Links page so students can practice at home with some fun games and activities.
